Faith Lehane is The Dark Slayer. 'A lethal combination of beauty, power, and death.' She is the 'cleavagy slut bomb' as someone in particular would say. Complete with a Boston accent, an attitude not even Buffy Summers could handle, leather pants and she's sadly a super human magnet for losers. Coming from a broken home and a hell of a lot of issues, she's the complete opposite of Buffy - a face to face representation of what Buffy could have been had her past been similar to Faiths. Where Buffy's sweet and friendly, Faith's intimidating and friendless. The blonde slayer has a home with a loving mother and Faith's got a motel room and no guardian or authority figure. She wears dark red lipstick, flirts and enjoys sex, smokes, and killing is like a drug-like euphoria to her. She's impulsive, wild, drinks, parties, appears to be careless, and speaks without any sensors whatsoever. She follows her instincts, unlike Buffy she made slaying her entire life because she had nothing else but the belief that she was meant to fight the bad guys and win. Anything else was negative thinking and she doesn't like to let that in. Being indifferent is key to her survival, which makes her the queen of just acquaintances, no true friends at all. Anything too personal or real makes her push away and claim that she doesn't care. She displays serious abandonment issues, and is even unable to trust men or share intimacy with them.
Trust is everything to her. She believes that it should be earned, and doesn't expect to get it from anyone unless you respect her and prove that you're worthy of her time. But once she trusts someone, she will never betray them, her loyalty is infinite unless she, herself is betrayed or physically and emotionally hurt. With that trust, she can easily be swayed to good or evil, like the Mayor, who effortlessly pulled her into the dark side, betraying Buffy and the Scoobies. If Faith thinks she has done wrong, hurt the people that have shown her respect and trust, Faith loses it. She'll either run or try to find redemption.
Faith believes that she's 'bad', a murderer. The time Faith killed a man was the moment things got too hard and personal. This affected her immensely, and even if she tried to brush it off, saying that she didn't care. She did. Faith's no God. She's just a mere mortal. Her job is to protect the innocents from the dark forces of evil and she slipped. This is when she just spirals down. Her chaotic behavior increased and she sided with evil because she felt that's who she was. to be continued...
